Museum News

The Portland Art Museum acquired seven significant works of art, including a major landscape painting by Paul Cézanne titled Paris: Quai de Bercy-La Halle aux Vin. The acquisitions also include paintings by noted American artists Thomas Moran and David Salle. The new works will be permanently installed in the museum’s renovated 240,000-square-foot space, which is scheduled for completion in August 2000.

The C.M. Russell Museum in Great Falls, MT, announced that it has met the Kresge Foundation’s challenge to raise $5.7 million in order to be awarded $450,000 from the foundation. The majority of the funds are earmarked for museum expansion.
