MONTANA
Style: My style is defined by negative and positive spaces which are interwoven. This blend of abstraction and realism creates grounded motion that feels effortlessly light.
Creative Spark: I am most captivated by the beauty of movement and emotion found in animals.
Art Education: My skills as an artist have developed primarily through trial and error, time spent and professional criticism from artists who have generously given of their time.
Best Art Advice Received: Some of the best advice I ever received was to define, specifically, what I want. Then, reverse engineer the steps to create a clear path on how to get there.
Favorite Studio Music: I love to listen to a variety of different music and podcasts in the studio while I work. Ed Sheeran, Trip Hop and an acoustic singer-songwriter are a few favorites.
Favorite Work by Another Artist: I find the work of Grainger McKoy to be very inspiring.
Artistic Goals: My primary goal is to tell meaningful stories, through my sculptures, that people can relate to. Another ambition is to create large-scale sculptures and install them around the world.
Other Passions: Swing dancing. There is nothing better than losing yourself in motion and music. I also enjoy getting out and camping, riding dirt bikes and paddleboarding with my dog.
