Lucky enough to have had parents who believed in art, Heather Coen grew up knowing she would someday be a painter. Since then, she has put in her 100 miles of painted canvases and traveled the back roads of this incredible country, as well as the world.
Juried into 40 national and international shows in the past 24 months, she is a “Signature Circle” member of Paint America and attained “Signature” status in both Plein Air Artists Colorado and Pastel Society of Colorado. In the last few years, articles have been published in major art magazines about her paintings. Taking the Silver award for Plein Air Rockies 2011 and first place under the best-of-show winner for Wyoming’s Prairies to Peaks 2011, her skill as a plein-air competitor is proven.
Believing that an artist can improve and grow no matter his or her experience, she always strives to improve her skills. Heather resides in Loveland, Colorado, with her two spoiled basset hounds and her husband, Richard.
