Illinois
Art Education: I am in my fourth year at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. I will graduate in May with a bachelor’s degree in fine art.
Style: I am always interested in false or constructed spaces. Recently I have been investigating the use of windows and barriers within the painting. I like how using these structures removes the viewer from the scene.
Creative Spark: Everything is potential material—brick walls, old windows, urinals, the architectural design of sheds and storage units, sun umbrellas, traffic cones.
Other Passions: Jesus Christ, the word of God, my community, my family, skateboarding, snowboarding, and the literary work of Fyodor Dostoyevsky
Best Advice Received: Fail, fail again. Fail better.
Biggest Fears: Sharks and deep, dark water.
Favorite Studio Music: Born Ruffians, Surfer Blood, Sigur Rós, Bob Dylan, and Youth Lagoon, to name a few.
Price Range: $150 to $3,000.
