Missouri
Art Education: Bachelor’s degree in commercial art and master’s degree in studio art and illustration from Pensacola Christian College in Florida.
Style: Representational.
Creative Spark: Seeing other artists’ work, as well as the beauty of other people.
Other Passions: Jesus Christ. In him I find my ultimate satisfaction, security, and worth. I like to think of art as silent praise to God. I love my church, and my time spent there has blessed my life. Also, I love to get old things for cheap and fix them up. Great antique stores are some of my favorite places.
One Thing People Don’t Know About You: I’m a farm girl. I was blessed to grow up on our family farm and work alongside my mom and dad doing all sorts of farm-related activities: feeding pigs, pulling grain wagons, planting soybeans. Growing up on the farm taught me responsibility and hard work. These lessons proved valuable in college and graduate school.
Favorite Studio Music: I like to listen to Christian vocal music and beautiful instrumental music.
Favorite Work by Another Artist: Daniel Keys, Susan Lyon, and Morgan Weistling are the artists that I have referenced most often, and I love many of their pieces. I also love the work of Brian Jekel, my mentor in graduate school.
Price Range: $300 to $1,750.
Representation: ElevenOne Studios, Lillington, NC.
