Art Education: A bachelor’s degree in fine art and neuroscience from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, and a master’s degree in fine art from the Laguna College of Art + Design in Laguna Beach, CA.

Style: Contemporary representational.

Creative Spark: I enjoy getting outside and being in a nature. I will often get ideas when I am hiking or running because my mind can let go of smaller daily concerns and meditate on new concepts.

Second-Choice Career: I would probably be a social scientist of some sort. I find human behavior and societal trends fascinating. I have learned that there is a lot of overlap between how artists observe their surroundings and how scientists seek answers to their questions. Both fields require a high degree of creativity and curiosity.

Other Passions: I teach studio art and art history at Laguna College of Art + Design and Rio Hondo College. I love being able to share knowledge with others and feel the excitement in a classroom when students are making breakthroughs. All that energy is very contagious.

Biggest Fear: My biggest fear is a shark attack, which is not that unrealistic given that I grew up in Stinson Beach, CA.

Favorite Studio Music: I listen to a lot of different music, but my favorite thing to listen to while painting is podcasts of Radiolab.

Future Goals: I would like to keep painting well into old age and to travel the world.

Price Range: $400 to $5,000.

Representation: Studio C Gallery, Los Angeles, CA.
